Villa Casa Nora is situated within its own grounds with its own private pool (with shower) and gardens and has a stunning sea view which takes in the Isles de Medes. Outside is furnished with sun loungers, tables, chairs, sun umbrellas and pool and beach equipment. There is roadside parking available just outside the gate of the villa. Outside also benefits from a passive infra-red security light which is very handy when returning to the villa after dark.
The layout of the villa is open-plan and the dining area leads through double doors onto the terrace which looks out to the Mediterranean Sea. There is a brick-built barbecue with chimney situated on the terrace and a table with four chairs and sun umbrella.
The villa floors are tiled throughout. Within the lounge area there is a leather suite (2 and 3 Seater), coffee table, 22" flat screen TV with DVD, VCR, satellite TV, music stereo and CD's and some traditional spanish furniture. There is also a good selection of board games, books, videos and DVD's.
The dining area consists of a table and chairs seating four people and a closed log burning fire.
The kitchen is well equipped with a four ring hob, oven and grill, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker and fridge freezer. There is also a slow cooker so you can prepare a meal, go out for the day and dinner is ready when you return. The kitchen is separated from the dining area by a breakfast bar with three stools.
The bathroom has been completely refurbished and contains a walk-in shower and single vanity unit. There is a lighted mirror above the washbasin. There is a separate room (also completely refurbished) containing the lavatory with a washbasin with a lighted mirror above. There is a utility room which contains a new washing machine, iron, ironing board, clothes maiden and vacuum cleaner.

Casa Nora is situated in Sa Punta, Platja de Pals, part of an area known as the 'Golden Triangle'. The Costa Brava is one of Spain's best-kept secrets. This rugged coastline extends northeast of Barcelona to the French border. The coast here is scenic and rugged, with coves, cliffs, and mountaintop lookouts. Picturesque towns and villages such as Pals, Llafranc, Cadaques, Calella de Palafrugell and Portlligat can be found all along the Costa Brava, as well as the Greek and Roman ruins of Empuries.
The best parts of the Costa Brava are still truly beautiful, with the northerly stretch dotted with perfect small beaches in rocky coves surrounded by pine clad hills. Strictly speaking the Costa Brava runs out at Blanes, a few miles north of Barcelona but, as do most people, we include Barcelona.
Golfers have discovered on the Costa Brava, a destination with many golf courses open all year round, with a Mediterranean climate and very mild temperatures which helps the courses remain in perfect condition. Quality, variety and the spectacular are featured in courses.
The course styles are varied including links and parkland layouts which are often lined with impressive pines, cork and oak trees, whilst others include water hazards and large undulating greens. The environment has provided this area with a privileged landscape, where golf courses have been perfectly adapted and carefully respect the environment around them.
Driving ranges have been perfectly prepared for those who want to take up with this wonderful game. Several driving ranges have more than 100 practice bays, as well as pitching and putting greens.... and most of them are pleased to welcome groups bringing their own teaching pro to make the most of the winter season on the Costa Brava.
Maybe, this is another reason why the European PGA has decided to establish their first PGA course in Spain close to Girona, in the heart of the Costa Brava. The PGA Golf de Catalunya is unquestionably the "jewel in the crown".
In addition to this, other courses such as Pals, Emporda and Peralada have hosted the PGA Pre-Qualifying School II.

“Positives - The pool, outside space and view are excellent; in fact the pool is better than it looks in the photo as is the outside seating space (the photos don't do it justice). The town is only a 10 minute walk away; it feels longer when you're driving up the hill but its not. It's located near some lovely places - Figueres (home of the Dali museum), Pals etc, all the 'real' Spain and well worth a visit
Not so great - the villa is a bit tired and could have been cleaner (we had an infestation of ants on arrival as the kitchen hadn't been properly cleaned), and the the villa appeared to have had only a cursory clean before we arrived. The bathroom and toilet are dated and uninviting, my daughter and her friend would only use the shower outside by the pool.
All in all - I'd recommend Casa Nora as long as you're aware of the above.”
Owner's response:
Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the outside space and yes, the photos don't really do it justice.
I spoke to the contractors re the cleaning and had to admit that this had been the only complaint received in the three years we have been using this particular company. If anyone is unhappy with the standard of cleaning when they arrive, they must report this straight away to the agent. If the matter is reported a cleaner will be sent out to re-clean the property. Casa Nora is cleaned after every let so should be clean upon your arrival.
It was a very hot Summer on the Costa Brava this year, the hottest for many years and this probably reflects the problem with the ants. Many properties in the area had the same problem. With the right treatment (which will be available in the villa) the ants can be eradicated within minutes.
Whilst I agree that the villa is a bit tired inside, I do feel it is unfair to say that showering outside is preferable. The bathroom is dated but it is tiled in a typical Spanish tile, which is dark green, not too good as there is no natural light in the bathroom.
However, Casa Nora is about to be brought into the 21st century. The bathroom and toilet are to be completely ripped out and re-fitted from scratch with new plumbing, toilet, basins, taps tiles and a large walk in shower. This will be done at the beginning of January 2010. All rooms in the villa are to be re-painted and re-varnished. A new TV and leather suite will be installed. A new washing machine has already been plumbed in.
A new kitchen will be fitted in early 2011.
