Situated in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Finca Los Tigres is a brand new but traditional Andalucian “white property”. It sits high upon a hill in wide grounds, with astonishing views of the surrounding countryside and a vista of the shimmering Mediterranean in the distance (5 mins by car).
The house sleeps 4-6, in three bedrooms and one small bunk room. There are two double bedrooms with large beds, one twin bedroom which can be configured as a kingsize double and one small bedroom with a bunkbed-sofabed combination sleeping one-three, suitable for children or visiting friends. There are two fully equipped bathrooms, one with bath/shower/wc and one with powershower/wc.
The kitchen is appointed to a high standard with a walk-in refrigerator, washer, dishwasher, dryer, microwave and gas hob/electrical oven, as well as a cooker hood and many more electrical appliances.
The entire cortijo has under floor solar powered heating and fitted wardrobes throughout. The bigger bedrooms have airconditioning. The living room has a cosy wood burning Franklin stove to guard against the occasional desert chills. Surrounding the cortijo are terraces of traditional slate with access to a large, 13x3.5m solar heated swimming pool, situated two terraces down. There is a BBQ area one terrace down, overlooking the pool. The finca is set in rough desert landscape and does not feature manicured gardens. It is not suitable for unsupervised children or those who may have difficulties walking over uneven terrain.
There is ample parking around the house. Satellite TV and DVD equipment is available. Pets are allowed, but cannot be fenced in.

These prices are all inclusive cleaning, gas, water, electricity, heating, air conditioning are included.
A damage deposit of 200€ in cash is taken by our caretaker upon arrival, to be returned on departure after inspection of the property.
Guests of Finca Los Tigres have endless opportunities to occupy themselves: watersports, riding, golf, hiking, even skiing (2 hours away in the Sierra Nevada Olympic Ski Resort). You can ski in the morning and swim in the Med during the afternoon. The weather is extremely stable and sunny in this part of Spain and the sea temperature does not fluctuate much from summer to winter, so swimming, fishing and diving are possible all year round. Our pool stays open all year as well. Guests can walk down the hill to Hipica Aguamarga, a brand new riding establishment with friendly, calm horses and ponies, catering to all abilities. The Hipica organises trekking and rides for our guests on long or short notice. Children can ride adorable little ponies in a fenced in area.
Finca los Tigres is a labour of love (as many properties in our area are). Antonia found Agua Amarga 20 years ago and promised to be back! Ten years ago, she showed the village and a ruined Finca to her husband Henry, who also fell in love with the place. After several years of obtaining permissions from the Cabo de Gata Natural Park Authorities, Henry's house design and Antonia's dream pool became reality: high upon a promontory, with a distant glimmer of the sea and nothing but nature to look at, Finca los Tigres welcomes you!

We are not retired, nor do we live at Finca los Tigres all year round. Therefore, we are able to share the Finca with like-minded guests and we are never happier than when a guest has written the following in our Guest Book:
"I could hear the silence. It felt as if the Finca has existed for centuries, but with all mod cons."
This is what we love about the Finca: many guests have become friends and return over and over again. And our Caretaker is much more involved with our guests than you would normally expect: he invites all of them to his concerts in a nearby bar-restaurant, comes to the rescue when needed and is a fountain of knowledge about the local area, particularly about motorcycle rides and horse treks. The Riding Centre next door is also a part of our "guest world": we are able to offer guests the possibility of playing with cute ponies, take a lesson or ride horses to the beaches. We love to be small, but special! We only hope you will love the Finca as we do!

“The finca was beautifylly and generously appointed and very easy to reach from Almeria airport and owners and caretaker very helpful and accommodating. Late spring is a great time to go; not too hot for walking (although windy) and the flowers were beautiful. The coastline/coastal walk is stunning. Good quality maps and guide books are hard to find for this area. We'll certainly return if we can only find another 2 or 3 more spectacular walks. Di et al”

“We had a wonderful holiday in May 2009. The house is gorgeous, so tastefully designed and it feels really homely. The location was good only a short drive to the beach. The views over the hills were stunning. The only thing I'd say is having a 1 year old around the Finca was a challenge as there are lots of big drops and jaggedy rocks around. This was only a minor issue, the rest was fabulous. We'd 100% go back.”
